Aftershock Update

Brandon of RCPro has just posted a great update of Aftershock. The coaster has finally started vertical construction but still has a long way to go. I’m pretty sure a good portion of the ride is still at its former park. Hopefully we will get to see this thing in action before the end of the 2008 season.

Check out the rest of the update here.

Roller Coaster Creator game

I was looking at one of my favorite flash game sites today and came across a roller coaster related game. We don’t just have to play Brakeman anymore! In this one, you design the track to hit certain tokens. It may not be totally correct if you are into coaster simulators, but it is worth a try. Darien Lake’s Motobike Ride - Name Announced

Orange County Choppers MotoCoaster - no, Cedar Fair had nothing to do with the naming of this attraction, is set to open this season at the former Six Flags park Darien Lake. While the only update I have to offer is the name, I had to point out yet another pathetic example of the lack of creativity in the amusement industry today.

Couldn’t OCC just stay a sponsor? Have a bike parked outside the entrance, a nice banner that declares them as the sponsor of this attraction?

Like the number of licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop, the world may never know.

Manta concept art

Several pictures of concept art for SeaWorld’s Manta coaster have recently shown up on the net. This post was meant for a few days ago, but there were a few problems with the site that prevented that from happening. Anyway…The ride has already been announced, but there have been few details out there. The pictures are pretty awesome looking, and if this is coaster is anything like the pictures SeaWorld will have a hit on its hands.

This is really going to be an interesting coaster. I can’t wait to see how they make the coaster dive into the water.

Six Flags New England’s Dark Knight Coaster Cancelled

In a dissapointing turn of events the Dark Knight coaster scheduled to go to Six Flags New England this season has been cancelled due to several problems regarding permits. Six Flags started construction on the building for the Dark Knight before recieving the proper permits, which then led to a halt in construction, and finally to this. All construction that has been done up to this point will be dismantled and there is a good chance that we will never see this coaster built at Six Flags New England.

While this is dissapointing, Six Flags got what was coming to them. This kids is why we don’t break the law to get a headstart on construction!
