Dreamland’s Scenic Railway destroyed

One of the oldest coasters in the world was claimed by a fire this morning. Dreamland’s Scenic Railway, the third oldest coaster of its type was destroy. According to RCDB, the coaster opened in 1920 and is listed as an ACE Coaster Classic.

As of right now there are not many details out there on what happened to start the fire. I’m sure we will learn more as additional news comes out. It is pretty sad to see such a classic coaster destroyed by a fire.

Fahrenheit construction update 4-05

This is the second construction update this week, I must have a lot of free time. In fact, I was in Hershey today for the Spring Time in Hershey event that the park puts on. They open the park for the weekend and have most of the rides running. The price of admission is also half of what you normally pay. The nice thing was that they didn’t have Fahrenheit completely blocked off.

The station is really coming together, and it is massive.

Sadly I was not creative to come up with some good April Fools joke for you all, but I did grab a sweet update of Fahrenheit. The track looks to be just about done.

The loop has been fully installed and the cobra roll is just about there.

Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit

Hollywood Rip, Ride, RockitUniversal Studios Florida released details on “Project Rumble” this past Wednesday, and it’s a coaster! Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit is the official name of the attraction, a new 167 ft tall coaster which is planned to become a new icon for the park.

Located between Jimmy Neutron and the Blue Man Group theater, the ride will be an outdoor thrill ride flying above the park and parts of CityWalk, unlike the park’s other rides which are mostly indoors. The ride is reported to allow riders to select music to listen to on the ride and create a music video of their ride. Rockit is designed by Maurer Söhne and appears to be using their X-Car system.

Rockit looks like a great addition to the park. Although I was hoping for a B&M hyper like Hollywood Dream: The Ride at Universal Studios Japan, I am looking forward to riding this and experiencing Maurer Söhne’s X-Cars.

There it is, all done and looking good.
