Worlds of Fun announces Prowler

Cedar Fair is at it again with another new wooden coaster. This beast is called Prowler and will be located in the Africa section of WOF. Prowler is essentially a new take an an out and back coaster.

Unlike out and back coasters of old, Prowler hugs the ground for the majority of the ride and seems to have very few airtime moments. In my opinion most out and back coasters seem to have a lot of hills associated with them. It’s a nice contrast and I think it will work really well. Another big plus is that it is being built by GCI, so that means Millennium Flyer trains. You can check out an overhead layout of the ride below. Be sure to check out the coaster’s “site” and view the videos, stats, and other artwork.

CB updated

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past several years, you have noticed that CoasterBuzz.com is one of the internet’s leading coaster sites. Today the site launched a new layout and a few feature fixes. Gone is the green of old, the site has gone with an exact opposite of red as the color scheme. While the opinions on CB have varied greatly, it has stood the test of time (in internet years) and supplied the online community with a great service. Check out the new site, not much has changed (other than the color) but it pomises to deliver a lot in the future.

Another person it by a coaster

What about “Danger Keep Out” do people not get. And how many times have we heard this story this summer. This time it was at Magic Mountain, and the coaster in question is Ninja. A 20 man was hit by a train while trying to retrieve a hat. He was found laying unconscious but still breathing. His medical condition remains unknown

Six Flags’ medical staff was apparently on the scene within two minutes (not too shabby if you as me).  You can read the rest of the story here. I really don’t have much else to say stay out of restricted areas and you have a 99.999999999% chance of not being hurt at an amusement park.

An update

Sorry for the slow updates this past week or so. I finished up my summer job and just got engaged to my girlfriend (now fiance). Come Friday I will be taking a much needed vacation for a week and a half. I’m sure some of the other staff will be posting during this time, but I just wanted to apologize for the delay. The regular posts will return soon.

Laser is out of here

Dorney posted the Laser for sale two months ago on UsedRides.com. Well UsedRides has updated it’s site and it shows the Laser as being sold. Get your last rides in this season as Dorney is losing a gem of a coaster. I’m pretty bummed out about this one, at least we have some warning this time unlike when they removed the Hercules without so much as a press release.
