Top Spin In Manual Mode

I saw this video on YouTube and just had to post it here for everybody to see (if you haven’t already). It is pretty amazing to see what Top Spin’s can really do, and three cheers to the folks who had the guts to ride it. Now where’s the nearest Top Spin and more importantly the ride operator!

Edit by Kevin: I put the right video in.

Criss Angel Death Defying Coaster Illusion

I always thought Mindfreak was an interesting show, but now that they have a roller coaster involved it is that much more interesting. On August, 28th at 10PM EST and again at 2AM EST on A&E, Criss will tie himself to the tracks of the Canyon Blaster roller coaster at the Adventuredome at Circus Circus and attempt to escape before being pummeled by the train.

This should be very interesting and I can’t wait to see how it all goes down. It is amazing how he can design these stunts and it was only a matter of time before a roller coaster got involved.

Hard Rock Park Progress Update

The latest action at the park has been posted to Discover Myrtle Beach. Led Zeppelin the Ride is moving along quite nicely. As of today, the cobra roll and half of the corkscrew have been put into place. Also construction on Reggae River Falls is progressing as well as some other park attractions.

I always thought it was kind of exciting when a whole brand new park gets built. After it opens I am also excited to see how far they will eventually go with this park. I think it will be a huge hit for Myrtle Beach and being able to watch construction through pictures on sites such as Discover Myrtle Beach is pretty nice. Thumbs up to them.

SheiKra To Go Floorless

“Florida’s best ride is about to raise the rush.”  Later this week Busch Gardens Africa will be announcing their new plans for their biggest coaster.  Sometime this year, the Tampa, Florida park is going to receive a pretty major upgrade. This upgrade will make it’s trains floorless to match Busch Gardens Europe’s Griffon. The major construction for this to happen will of course be in the station which will have to feature the unique load/ unload platform other floorless coasters have.

Geauga Lake to Remove X-Flight

Aurora, OH’s latest roller coaster will be getting a new home within the next couple of years. Workers have already begun dismantling the Vekoma Flying Dutchman. This decision comes after another lackluster season for the park and it kind of surprises me that they would rather move it to another park in the chain and brand it as a new coaster. As to where it will go they have yet to announce it.

Along with Dominator, that coaster was the parks flagship attraction. Hopefully they add a bigger attraction or have something planned to help the attendance issue. I’d hate to see that place get shut down.

I never liked the name of X-Flight, I do hope they change it to something a bit more appealing.
