Founder of “Wild West World” Guilty Of Fraud
Remember Kansas’ only amusement park? Okay, minus the “Zonkers” and “All Star Adventures”. The first of which is a former Jeepers and the other of which, well, looks rather abysmal. I’m obviously talking about Wild West World, what had at first glance appeared to be the salvation of Kansas theme park lovers.
However, after only one year in operation the park died. Blaming the lack of money on the large amount of rain, owner Tomas Etheredge tried to make it sound like it was just an amount of bad luck. After much debate among the coaster geek forums, with many “I told you sos” and “What a shames” the story died.
Until now. It turns out that Mr. Etheredge has a criminal history that he did not disclose to the investors of the Kansas amusement park. He also “failed to provide true information” about his lack of business experience. In other words, he lied. The story may sugar coat it, but I won’t. And not only did he lie about his lack of business experience, he lied about being religious in order to obtain funds from local churches, who he allowed to hold occasional services at the park. What a total slime ball. On the flip side, what a bunch of gullible churches.
Doesn’t this sound like a plot line in a rather mediocre kids’ movie? Well, the loser is in jail now and needs to post one million dollars in bail to get out. He is to be sentenced March 12th, so I’ll let you guys know what happens when he is.
