Superman: The Escape To Become Bizarro?
In a discussion on the Amusement Insider forum it was speculated that the “B Side” (I believe that is the right side) of Superman: The Escape was being cannibalized for parts for the “A Side”. I threw this possibility out on our Twitter account and received this response from the Six Flags Twitter account: “Not true at all! We have exciting plans for Superman The Escape. Stay tuned for news!!!”
My immediate reaction was that we will see the ride race once more. For those of you not aware, it has been a very, very long time since the ride has raced during normal operation. As I thought about it a bit more, it appeared that a Bizarro re-theme may be imminent. Twitter follower Stuart Newsom came to the same conclusion. He also said that perhaps this is an elaborate way to get back at Cedar Fair by turning Superman into an Intamin First Generation Drop Tower.
Okay, so perhaps it is more likely that first possibility, but either way this is exciting news. What are your thoughts? Will Six Flags Magic Mountain get a Bizarro coaster soon? Will Superman race again?

That would be a really neat idea! As long as there is no safety concern as far as launching one side backwards, I think it could be a really good idea. Especially when it comes to selling it. So, conceptually, great idea. Practically? Well I guess we’ll have to wait and see!

That would be cool if they can finally pull it off with few flaws. Travel backwards up the tower then fall face down? That would be freaky. I think it would be cool if they can also build a Giant Drop ride on the Superman tower much like what they have on Tower of Terror at Dreamworld in Australia. After all, I would like to see some kind of free fall return to the park. As for any ride being converted into Bizzaro, Goliath would be my last choice, because I think Goliath is good the way it is. I can see them maybe doing something like that with Scream, though. I’m not saying that’s even a rumor, that’s just some food for thought.
Yeah, I agree that if not Superman, Scream would be the most logical choice. And if it is possible to throw some kind of a drop tower on the back it would be a really neat idea! However, I think putting a drop tower where Freefall used to stand would be an even better location, easier to get to, etc.
