Goliath (SFMM) Review

Looming at 255 feet in the air, Goliath is a Magic Mountain staple. The only classic example of a hyper coaster in California, Goliath is flocked to by thrill seekers all summer long.

Mystery Coaster #25

Sorry we haven’t been on top of things lately, but summer has now started for me, so expect more reviews and on-time updates to come!

I know it is a little small, but you should be able to figure it out. Hint: Check out the coaster in the back ground!
Good luck!

Terminator opens

Terminator has finally opened up at SFMM. It has been getting some really great reviews, but the theming is so so. Jake was there for opening day and he should be getting on here sometime soon to get some more info and  a review. A few RCPro members have posted some great pictures of the coaster. In particular I love the enterance sign. I’m still not a fan of the stuff they put on the side of the trains.

Magic Mountain’s Salvation

Six Flags Magic Mountain’s salvation has arrived in the form of Terminator Salvation: The Ride. This GCI (GCII?) woodie packs a punch both on-ride, off-ride, and in queue that is unmatched throughout the rest of the park. With better than Batman theming, better than X2 soundtrack, better than Revenge of the Mummy queue, and better than Roar! track, Terminator is the full package, and exactly what the park needed.

BrainRush coming this summer

Cash Cab is one of my favorite dinner time shows. The concept has been expaneded by Cartoon Network to now take place on roller coasters. As of right now I don’t know when the show is actaully going to go live, but they are promoting it as coming this summer. Cartoon Network’s website has this to say:
This is a fast-paced quiz show that puts contestants in a seriously high-pressure situation-they’re on a roller coaster. Scream if you know the answer!

I bet this will be fun to watch as not everyone …

You Get What You Pay For – Right?

I read a comment on a forum this evening that got me thinking. The poster was commenting on the fact that Terminator’s on board audio computer (SOBAT for short, I believe) is exposed as the last car on the train, same as with X2. However with rides like California Screamin’ or Space Mountain the SOBAT is completely integrated into the train, and he was wondering why. One word: Money, moolah, the green stuff, etc.

We now know when the much anticipated (By me at the very least) Creature of the Black Lagoon show is set to debut: July 1st, 2009 at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Here is the press release that went along with this announcement. You can expect me to get out to Universal Studios this summer – I miss the park something awful, and I am thrilled to check out this new show!
