SROS’s new name is…
Six Flags New England has confirmed the new name of Superman: Ride of Steel as “Bizarro.” Now I’m not Superman junkie but I believe that Bizarro is part of that brand. Here is the Wikipedia page.
I think my favorite part of the Wikipedia article is the following quote.
…the term Bizarro is used as to describe anything that uses twisted logic or that is the opposite of something else
Ok, that makes sense, but purpke is not the opposite of red (and I’m colorblind). I’m excited to see how they tie this all together into one storyline. I wonder if they are setting up a Superman Returns coaster or something along those lines. This also brings up the question of Medusa at SFGAdv; are they going to name it Bizarro as well?

Bizarro was created by Lex Luthor in order to battle Superman (if knowledge serves correct). The term Bizarro was used fairly frequently in the Seinfeld tv show (I recall an episode where ‘Bizarro’ versions of Jerry, George, Kramer and Elayne all appeared) which is how I first became acquainted with the character.
I think it’s an interesting concept, and I’m curious to see just how Six Flags gets across who Bizarro is exactly, since it would appear that a lot of people aren’t quite sure!
Ill be headed out to SFNE in May(later, probably the 15). Hopefully Ill be able to check it out.
The new name seems good. I’m not clear as to why they want the new name though.
Yeah I’m not too sure either. I understand they are trying to build excitement for an old ride, but a name change and all of that. More then anything it is a pain to keep track of.
^ A good marketing campaign will make it an exciting thing to keep track of! Just think, they’ve (hopefully) ‘plussed’ the “Worlds Greatest Coaster”. Now that’s something to get excited for!
Medusa’s new name is defiantly Bizzaro! Check it out http://www.loislanereports.com/ It doesn’t state it directly, but the same two things are supposed to happen to both of the rides. And we know SROS’s new name is Bizzaro.
