SF Coaster Cuts opens
If you check out this thread you will see a lot more pictures. User SROS1fan posted a bunch of pictures from the newly opened Six Flags Roller Coaster Cuts. I think the community is still laughing at this idea, but wait till you see the pictures (or the prices). The store is essentially a giant gift shop that cuts hair on the side. It appears as though they don’t cut adult hair either.
Want to know the best part? Of course you do, they are charging $19.99 for a haircut! I don’t know about you but I get my hair cut by a guy named Frank and he charges $10 and I can watch ESPN when he’s doing it. They do have a few TV’s that promte SF and one that allows you to play PS2 while you are getting your hair cut, but for $19.99 a cut, you would think you could play a PS3. I still think this is a silly idea but apparently there is already a second one in the works.

$20 for a kids haircut? Parents can take their kids to Great Clips for $10. Yes, it has an awesome atmosphere, but in this economy, people can’t spend an extra for a kid’s haircut. If they are, they must not be worrying.
Yeah, it does sound a bit silly at first. But when you think about it, it really isn’t that bad of an idea. It gets the brand out into local communities, gives a chance to make some extra revenue, and probably doesn’t cost that much to set up. And hey, a little diversification never hurts.
Plus, $20 really isn’t that much for a hair cut. I get mine cut for $16 which is a pretty good bargain for where I live. Most salons run $40+.
I agree with Eric, $20 for a kids haircut really isn’t ‘that’ over priced, at least not out here in California.
Besides, at this point, Six Flags should be doing anything they can to get people thinking about their brand.
In Cali it might not be, but I live near Philly and kids haircuts run around $6-8. I guess it depends on where you live that determines the price of things but $20 is really steep near me.
Clearly you’re not paying for the hair cut – you’re paying for the theme.
Besides, if they can get twenty bucks for a haircut, then there’s no reason not to – right?
So do they simulate getting a hair cut on a roller coaster? lol
The $19.99 price also includes a “free” Kodak Photo of your child!
