Laser is out of here

Dorney posted the Laser for sale two months ago on UsedRides.com. Well UsedRides has updated it’s site and it shows the Laser as being sold. Get your last rides in this season as Dorney is losing a gem of a coaster. I’m pretty bummed out about this one, at least we have some warning this time unlike when they removed the Hercules without so much as a press release.

This saddens me tremendously… Not only was Laser my first time upside - down, but it was a spectacular ride from start to finish. It’s not hugely surprising considering low ridership and VooDoo next door, but VooDoo is NOT a good enough replacement for this masterpiece of a ride.

I hope that Laser finds a home nearby or elsewhere so that more can experience what Scwarzkopf is all about. I might shed a tear if this ride was scrapped.

Business wise, this is probably a good move, but nothing will really ever replace Laser and the memories I’ve had on it. With that said, the removal of this ride opens up a U - shaped tract of Dorney-owned land, starting at laser, wrapping around Screamworks, crossing the creek and lying next to Steel Force. Potential planning for that long rumored GCI? :D

    Very sad, indeed.

Yeah.. I’ll never understand the love for any Schwarzkopf creation. Most of them are rough, or otherwise not all that impressive. I definitely enjoy the Shuttle loops, but I don’t care for Revolution, and Zonga was a piece.

    GCI > Schwarzkopf forever.

It will be sad to see it go but I know it will be in good use else where.
I hope better ride will take its place and make dorney better then it was this year.
