Face of fear

I was browsing this page when I stumbled upon a 1998 “Crazy Train” spectacular ride. When I saw the thumbnail I thought “not it couldn’t be.” Then I clicked on link to get more info, I was presented with a ride that scared the living poop out of me when I was younger. I was only seven or eight and they had one of these things at the PA State Fair.

I can still remember how much this ride scared me, to the point that I was screaming to get out. The ride travels around the oval track and then the track itself begins to rotate as a whole. That’s where this ride got me. Being seven or so I wasn’t really big enough to fit into the restraints properly (I was really skinny), but I was tall enough so it was OK. As soon as we started to rotate I was out of my seat. I think I only got back to it once the ride stopped. I still think about that ride from time to time and I would love to go on one again to “conquer” it.

Do you have any rides that you were scared of as a kid and you wish you could go on again?

The Zipper at the local fair. I almost fell of the restraints and it scared the crap out of me. The ride has left the fair though so I gotta find another one.

When I was younger I rode the Zambezi Zinger at Worlds of Fun when it was still around. Scared the living daylights out of me! So much that I wasn’t able to ride another coaster until like 8th grade. But now that I got all coaster enthusiastic, I would kill to get one more ride on the Zambezi Zinger! I have yet to ride a Schwarzkopf outside of Wildcat at Cedar Point, and I want to see what they are all about.
