Geauga Lake to be waterpark only
Cedar Fair announced today that the rides side of Geauga Lake will be closing completely, and as of the 2008 season the park will be a water park only.
From the article:
As part of the changeover to exclusively water park attractions, a number of the rides at Geauga Lake will be introduced at other Cedar Fair parks.
The property not necessary for the operation of the water park is being reviewed for other uses and development.
All I have to say is this is very disappointing news from a historical perspective. They better save those wood coasters.

I totally agree that they better save the wooden coasters. Big Dipper is a blast and so is The Villain… I just wonder where these will go.

I guess I also have to say that I am glad they are still keeping it as something and I believe it will still be a hit being only a waterpark.

If the Big Dipper is destroyed… I can’t say how mad I’ll be. Surely they won’t be so stupid. I really want Raging Wolf Bobs to stay as well, but given it’s location, I guess that’s completely out of the question.
Sigh, I never thought the wild rumors would come true…

Sounds good to me :/

Big Dipper was a piece of trash when I rode it. Same with Villain. Let’s have a bonfire. Except Villain’s steel.

I really enjoyed the Big Dipper, Villain I could live without. I just don’t understand why there was so much secrecy behind this move and why the still are not releasing that much info.

It makes me sad because I live right by the park and i can’t go on those coasters anymore. I hope Big Dipper and Villain get moved to another park. I could see them fitting in at Cedar Point if there is the room.

Keep the woodies there and move them to another park. The steel coasters can go. Although, would if they put the thunderhawk in Kennywood Park. That would be sweet cause I like the thunderwak.
