Exclusive Interview with a Source from Nantimi
Jake: First and foremost thanks for doing this interview with me Martin I really appreciate it.
So lets get started!
What gave you the idea to do a campaign like this?
Nantimi: Well, if you are referring to Martin from Nantimi, I can’t speak for him (I’m just borrowing his email for now). But it would seem to me that whoever was behind this would have to be connected to Hershey somehow, right?
I think it would be pretty cool if a park allowed someone (or a team of people) to treat the enthusiasts to some details before the public got to them, but that is just my opinion…a few seem to think differently.
Jake: Yes, it seems as if some have a problem with this marketing campaign. While some seem to find this to be a “phony, viral, advertising campaign” that is most certainly not the general feeling among the enthusiast community.
However, perhaps you could explain why you feel that enthusiasts deserve to get some details before the public? I’m certainly not complaining, merely curious.
Nantimi: I will say that for people to think that this ‘campaign’ was some greedy
plot to stir up business is somewhat humorous…wouldn’t it make more sense to do this 3 weeks before the ‘08 season, if that were the case?
In my opinion, this was probably more of a ‘tipping of the hat’ to the enthusiasts. Showing them that they are considered and recognized. What would be the benefit to angering that audience when they could have just left everything alone?
Throw a couple puzzles and some clues around, and finish with a reward…optional, for only those who want to play. That is what is strange with the people who are upset out there; nobody’s forcing anyone’s hand on this.
Jake: I think this has caught most enthusiasts off guard. They don’t expect to be treated with such respect by an amusement park. I find it to be quite flattering that a park would take so much interest in the community. Apparently others think differently.
There was a rumor floating around that an enthusiast devised the site and all the clues. Is there anything you can say to convince the non-believers?
Nantimi: If I had to guess, this certain group of people behind Nantimi probably asked permission to at least one individual (high enough to make that decision), then got to do what they wanted within reasonable limits. I would even assume that most of HE&R’s marketing and PR team might not have a clue to what’s been going on.
As far as the theory of an enthusiast behind the site, that would be a pretty elaborate hoax…I guess only time will tell with that one.
Thanks also to ‘natatomic’ for keeping it light.
Jake: That will just about do it for us! Thanks a bunch for the interview it’s really appreciated. Hopefully this will put to rest all the doubters.
In an interview with nantimi team members by coasterdom, they gave their own webhosting reviews. They suggested that when you choose a web host company, always look for a cheap web hosting company because all companies do about the same thing. You can choose lunarpages for cheap hosting services or hostmonster which provides unlimited space for free. After your site is hosted on to the net, affiliate marketing will help you generate your income.
