Steel Venom a Go
According to the Morning Call, Dorney has revieved permission to build a “state of the art coaster” from South Whitehall Planning Commission. The park plans to build a “184-foot-tall coaster powered by a linear induction motor, a type of motor used in rapid-transit trains and conveyor belts as well as amusement rides. The proposed ride would propel up to 28 passengers through a series of corkscrew turns at speeds up to 70 mph.”
So with those specs and description, we know it is Steel Venom (as we have been guessing for months now). I love Dorney (listen to the podcast, it will tell you all about my Dorney love) and live relatively close, so I think this is good news. I know there are those who wanted the coaster to come to their park, but this move makes the most sense. We will have to see if the rumored plans for a woodie will ever pan out, but for now, Dorney’s future coaster is no longer in question.

Meh. They should have gone with the woodie.
YAY! Im so excited for this.
Good for you?
Honestly they really are not that much fun
Sorry to rain on your parade, but I just rode the tallest and the fastest impulse and its nothing super fantastic…
Have fun anyway though! lol.
Carowinds should have gotten it.
