No story needs to be told, the coaster’s opening has been delayed. I predicted it 20 days ago on the podcast.

Is it just me or does there seem to be a growing divide among enthusiast these days? I’m sure everyone has been through the message boards and seen the two or possibly three different groups of enthusiasts that exist. First there are the hardcore coaster nerds (HCN). The HCN’s love coasters to no end and know every fact, figure, and oddity that any coaster has to offer. And they are not afraid to correct anyone, mainly the general public, who has one of those facts wrong. HCNs pride themselves on …

According to the Morning Call, Dorney has revieved permission to build a “state of the art coaster” from South Whitehall Planning Commission. The park plans to build a “184-foot-tall coaster powered by a linear induction motor, a type of motor used in rapid-transit trains and conveyor belts as well as amusement rides. The proposed ride would propel up to 28 passengers through a series of corkscrew turns at speeds up to 70 mph.”
So with those specs and description, we know it is Steel Venom (as we have been guessing for …

Dollywood’s newest attraction, Mystery Mine, opened it’s doors late March of 2007. The coaster, North America’s first “euro-fighter” is the largest capital investment to date for the park. I recently spent two days in the park, in which I had the opportunity to ride Mystery Mine numerous times.
Spoilers Ahead======
The ride begins with a sharp dip out of the station, which gives a good dose of whiplash as your head hits the headrest at the bottom of the drop. You then veer towards the left, making a unique outward-banked turn, going …

I was just browsing thought the net today and I came upon this website. Now before you spend your time going to that website, I should tell you that it just just an on-ride video of the coaster. According to RCDB the coaster’s name is not known, but it does look scary. There are just insane amounts of rust on the ride and the cars look a bit on the dangerous side. The coaster resides in North Korea at a park named Kaeson Youth Park. Now go ahead and take …

This post is a response to the Coaster Critic’s Blog on Solo Riding at Theme Parks. To start off, this is not a backlash or any type of malicious attack, his topic of discussion merely got me thinking. Now I would consider myself an average enthusiast. I know the basic stats and coasters of the big parks, but other then that, I really don’t care to know much more. It is more of a general interest for me (and I’m not bashing people who do more with it).
I’ve been to …

It was only a short time ago that we learned all of the details about the Hard Rock Park. Well construction has been moving along and the Led Zeppelin themed coasted has already started on vertical construction. It even has track on the supports if you can believe it. It appears as if only the brake run and possibly the station area has been completed, but it’s a huge head start for a park that is not going to open for a year. Check out the unofficial Hard Rock …
