We mentioned awhile ago that Hersheypark was getting Millennium Flyer trains for Wildcat. Taking a look at the GCI Intern Website, they have been talking about the construction of these for awhile. The other day they posted pictures of Wildcat’s new trains. I have got to say, they look great. I can’t wait to ride this year. The Millennium Flyers should offer a vast improvement over the previous trains.
Wildcat’s layout should be perfect for these trains. While it really is just a small change on paper, it will offer a …

I recently returned from a week-long trip in Florida. We decided to take a break from Disney for one day and travel over to Tampa to check out what Busch Gardens Africa had to offer.
As you approach the park, SheiKra, Kumba, and Montu rise high above the rest of the park, preparing you for what all you’re going to be conquering that day. As you enter the gates, SheiKra is out of sight, due to the massive trees around. But as you approach the Stanleyville section, SheiKra’s dark red track …

Well if you have been in the forums, you might have come across this thread. In the discussion, Six Flags’ website was mentioned as one of the least favorite amusement park website. Well today Six Flags launched a new site and I am totally blown away. It is an incredible improvement. It still uses flash, but it is very clean and not “clunky.” The parks all have new pages as well as all of the rides. They also unveiled a new rating system for rides. The ride pages are surprisingly …

According to RCDB the name of the park is indeed changing. If you look at the Great America page it is titled Knott’s Great America. It also indicates that the name change too place in 2007. We are just waiting on an official announcement on this, but if RCDB has it up, I have no trouble believing that it is going to happen. In our original post on this story the domain (that’s the web address) redirected to Great America’s current page. So with these two pieces of evidence, I’m …

Seven Carowinds employees were taken to the hospital with minor injuries Saturday after something went wrong with a mechanism on the BORG Assimilator. A group of 16 employees were on the ride Saturday at roughly 5:30 p.m. for the coaster’s 51st test run this season when something in the mechanism that holds the seat in the proper position disengaged. That triggered a safety precaution built into the ride: the car the employees were riding in stopped at the base of the vertical loop. “We’re not going to open it until …

It’s spring break and that means I have lots of free time that gets filled with doing unimportant things. Today I finally got around to getting onto the net today and I stumbled across Amusement Video. Basically Amusement Video is a coaster geek version of YouTube. Heck, they even bill themselves as “broadcasting for ride Geeks.” I suggest you check it out if you are in need of a quick fix or some unique videos.
Watch any video off of youtube for amusement purposes when you are sitting at any wireless …

Well it seems as if Cedar Fair has purchased www.knottsgreatamerica.com and it redirects you to the Great America page. The park was named Paramount Great America before Cedar Fair bought the chain and dropped the Paramount from all of the park names. This is interesting because it shows possible problems with the Great America name. Six Flags also has a Great America park. Interestingly enough, both “Knotts” Great America and Six Flags Great America were both owned and operated by Marriott, when they were in the amusement park business.
I don’t …
