“Florida’s best ride is about to raise the rush.” Later this week Busch Gardens Africa will be announcing their new plans for their biggest coaster. Sometime this year, the Tampa, Florida park is going to receive a pretty major upgrade. This upgrade will make it’s trains floorless to match Busch Gardens Europe’s Griffon. The major construction for this to happen will of course be in the station which will have to feature the unique load/ unload platform other floorless coasters have.

Well the poll seems to come out quicker each year and the results are not changing all that much. According to the Steel Roller Coaster Poll, SFNE’s Superman: Ride of Steel took the top spot, followed very closely by Expedition GeForce. What is really interesting is that 4 out of the top 5 coasters are in Europe. Only 4 of the top 10 coasters on the list are from the US. The top new coaster for the year was Six Flags Over Georgia’s Goliath.
As each year passes, we see more …

Well, they haven’t announced it yet, but it seems to be true. A couple of guys who are currently interning with GCI (http://www.greatcoastersinterns.com) have mentioned that they are building 6 Millennium Flyer trains. As far as we know, GCI is only opening 2 coasters this year, with presumably 2 trains each. Therefore, there are 2 extra trains, most definitely headed for Hersheypark to replace the PTC trains on Wildcat.
I think this is a stellar move and this will actually get me to Hershey this year (the Boardwalk …

A new aerial update of Six Flags Great Adventure was posted yesterday by “Flyin’ Phil” on his site. The update can be seen here.
The update shows some interesting things going on at the park. As seen in the last update, Stuntman’s Freefall is gone, and the Riptide log flume ride is almost completely gone. Some additional random work is going on in the parking lot. Oh, and the zero-g was taken off Chiller. It’s still a mystery what’s going on with the ride, ever since its incident with a …

Well the argument of who has the most coasters my be solved very soon. A rumor has been floating around that SFMM will be dismantling Psyclone and Flashback, putting their coaster count down to 15. Cedar Point is adding another coaster this summer making their count 17. A quick check of Six Flag’s site shows neither of the mentioned rides listed. So it could be all over for those two rides. What does this mean?
Well it essentially means nothing. Flashback hasn’t operated in a number of years and Psyclone isn’t …
