So I was cruising around on YouTube today, as thousands do, and decided to do a search for roller coasters. Interestingly enough, I have never searched for coasters on there before, but after seeing a link to this, I decided I should see what is out there. I was amazed at the amount of coaster related things out there. Everything from RCT to shaky onride video is on there.

My current favorite is this, a video of Kinda Ka. I don’t like it because of the video, rather the comments that follow the video. The comments are hilarious. It’s great, because there are people on there who know nothing about coasters and those who seem to know everything under the Sun about them. In particular I like leighton0’s response to a few “slower” YouTubers out there:

“Lets clear a few things up, Both coasters were designed by I B Stengel, the parks did not choose the layouts. Secondly the shoulder restraints are there as intamin identified a passenger risk of smashing their heads on the seats in front on the fast break runs, so its not because Ka has an airtime hill. And bigger doesnt mean its better Niave general public.” And yes, he did spell naive wrong.

Naive general public huh? That’s funny. I love when coaster enthusiasts take that stance that they are better or apart from the general public. We are the general public! Sure we may enjoy coasters and parks to a ridiculous level but that doesn’t set us apart. We pay to go to the parks, wait in the same lines, eat the same food, there is nothing that sets us apart. So for those of you who know all the answers about coasters, good job, no one really cares.
