For those of us who live near seasonal parks, the off season is quickly approaching. Of course many parks have a halloween type event happening at their parks, but after that, its over. For me, this is one of my favorite time to get out and visit a park. Generally the crowds are smaller and most of the rides are open. It’s the end of the summer rush. Sorry for this being a day or so later, but here it is. Valleyfair! announced a new GCI woodie for the 2007 season. Measuring over 3,000 feet long and 104 feeting high this ride is sure to impress. Renegade also features a “never-before-experienced twisting first drop.” It also has a high speed station pass and a low to the ground S-turn.

Well as Kevin said, today, Cedar Point announced its newest coaster, Maverick. You can read Kevin’s post for what all is in it, or you can go to Cedar Point’s site. I have to say this ride looks like a lot of fun. Nothing record breaking, which is a nice change. Maverick doesn’t try and push any limits or anything like that, it just goes fast and hugs the ground. I guess Cedar Point remembered that that is one of the best parks of Millenium Force. Two very exciting announcements are coming our way this week, on Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday, Holiday World will be announcing their $4.5 million expenditures for 2007 which will include one ride for each park. Presumably, we’ll see a tilt-a-whirl, and a bowl slide.
 On Thursday, Cedar Point will be announcing Maverick, a $20+ million coaster from Intamin. It will feature multiple launches, multiple inversions, and some very exciting elements and theming. We’ll be back on Wednesday and Thursday with all of the confirmed details. Stay tuned…
